CVE-2018-1000613 4 Bouncycastle, Netapp, Opensuse and 1 more 24 Bc-java, Oncommand Workflow Automation, Leap and 21 more 2025-05-12 9.8 Critical
Legion of the Bouncy Castle Legion of the Bouncy Castle Java Cryptography APIs 1.58 up to but not including 1.60 contains a CWE-470: Use of Externally-Controlled Input to Select Classes or Code ('Unsafe Reflection') vulnerability in XMSS/XMSS^MT private key deserialization that can result in Deserializing an XMSS/XMSS^MT private key can result in the execution of unexpected code. This attack appear to be exploitable via A handcrafted private key can include references to unexpected classes which will be picked up from the class path for the executing application. This vulnerability appears to have been fixed in 1.60 and later.
CVE-2019-17359 4 Apache, Bouncycastle, Netapp and 1 more 21 Tomee, Bc-java, Active Iq Unified Manager and 18 more 2025-05-12 7.5 High
The ASN.1 parser in Bouncy Castle Crypto (aka BC Java) 1.63 can trigger a large attempted memory allocation, and resultant OutOfMemoryError error, via crafted ASN.1 data. This is fixed in 1.64.
CVE-2018-5382 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat 3 Bc-java, Satellite, Satellite Capsule 2025-05-12 4.4 Medium
The default BKS keystore use an HMAC that is only 16 bits long, which can allow an attacker to compromise the integrity of a BKS keystore. Bouncy Castle release 1.47 changes the BKS format to a format which uses a 160 bit HMAC instead. This applies to any BKS keystore generated prior to BC 1.47. For situations where people need to create the files for legacy reasons a specific keystore type "BKS-V1" was introduced in 1.49. It should be noted that the use of "BKS-V1" is discouraged by the library authors and should only be used where it is otherwise safe to do so, as in where the use of a 16 bit checksum for the file integrity check is not going to cause a security issue in itself.
CVE-2020-28052 4 Apache, Bouncycastle, Oracle and 1 more 27 Karaf, Bc-java, Banking Corporate Lending Process Management and 24 more 2025-05-12 8.1 High
An issue was discovered in Legion of the Bouncy Castle BC Java 1.65 and 1.66. The OpenBSDBCrypt.checkPassword utility method compared incorrect data when checking the password, allowing incorrect passwords to indicate they were matching with previously hashed ones that were different.
CVE-2016-1000338 4 Bouncycastle, Canonical, Netapp and 1 more 6 Legion-of-the-bouncy-castle-java-crytography-api, Ubuntu Linux, 7-mode Transition Tool and 3 more 2025-05-05 7.5 High
In Bouncy Castle JCE Provider version 1.55 and earlier the DSA does not fully validate ASN.1 encoding of signature on verification. It is possible to inject extra elements in the sequence making up the signature and still have it validate, which in some cases may allow the introduction of 'invisible' data into a signed structure.
CVE-2015-7940 4 Bouncycastle, Opensuse, Oracle and 1 more 9 Bouncy Castle Crypto Package, Leap, Opensuse and 6 more 2025-04-12 N/A
The Bouncy Castle Java library before 1.51 does not validate a point is withing the elliptic curve, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain private keys via a series of crafted elliptic curve Diffie Hellman (ECDH) key exchanges, aka an "invalid curve attack."
CVE-2024-29857 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat 8 Bc-fja, Bc-java, Bc C .net and 5 more 2025-02-13 7.5 High
An issue was discovered in ECCurve.java and ECCurve.cs in Bouncy Castle Java (BC Java) before 1.78, BC Java LTS before 2.73.6, BC-FJA before 1.0.2.5, and BC C# .Net before 2.3.1. Importing an EC certificate with crafted F2m parameters can lead to excessive CPU consumption during the evaluation of the curve parameters.
CVE-2023-33201 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat 10 Bc-java, Amq Broker, Amq Streams and 7 more 2024-12-04 5.3 Medium
Bouncy Castle For Java before 1.74 is affected by an LDAP injection vulnerability. The vulnerability only affects applications that use an LDAP CertStore from Bouncy Castle to validate X.509 certificates. During the certificate validation process, Bouncy Castle inserts the certificate's Subject Name into an LDAP search filter without any escaping, which leads to an LDAP injection vulnerability.
CVE-2024-30172 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat 6 Legion-of-the-bouncy-castle-java-crytography-api, Amq Broker, Apache Camel Spring Boot and 3 more 2024-11-21 7.5 High
An issue was discovered in Bouncy Castle Java Cryptography APIs before 1.78. An Ed25519 verification code infinite loop can occur via a crafted signature and public key.
CVE-2022-45146 2 Bouncycastle, Oracle 2 Fips Java Api, Jdk 2024-11-21 5.5 Medium
An issue was discovered in the FIPS Java API of Bouncy Castle BC-FJA before 1.0.2.4. Changes to the JVM garbage collector in Java 13 and later trigger an issue in the BC-FJA FIPS modules where it is possible for temporary keys used by the module to be zeroed out while still in use by the module, resulting in errors or potential information loss. NOTE: FIPS compliant users are unaffected because the FIPS certification is only for Java 7, 8, and 11.
