| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: lpfc: Prevent lpfc_debugfs_lockstat_write() buffer overflow
A static code analysis tool flagged the possibility of buffer overflow when
using copy_from_user() for a debugfs entry.
Currently, it is possible that copy_from_user() copies more bytes than what
would fit in the mybuf char array. Add a min() restriction check between
sizeof(mybuf) - 1 and nbytes passed from the userspace buffer to protect
against buffer overflow. |
| A flaw was found in the libreswan client plugin for NetworkManager (NetkworkManager-libreswan), where it fails to properly sanitize the VPN configuration from the local unprivileged user. In this configuration, composed by a key-value format, the plugin fails to escape special characters, leading the application to interpret values as keys. One of the most critical parameters that could be abused by a malicious user is the `leftupdown`key. This key takes an executable command as a value and is used to specify what executes as a callback in NetworkManager-libreswan to retrieve configuration settings back to NetworkManager. As NetworkManager uses Polkit to allow an unprivileged user to control the system's network configuration, a malicious actor could achieve local privilege escalation and potential code execution as root in the targeted machine by creating a malicious configuration. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: s390: pv: fix index value of replaced ASCE
The index field of the struct page corresponding to a guest ASCE should
be 0. When replacing the ASCE in s390_replace_asce(), the index of the
new ASCE should also be set to 0.
Having the wrong index might lead to the wrong addresses being passed
around when notifying pte invalidations, and eventually to validity
intercepts (VM crash) if the prefix gets unmapped and the notifier gets
called with the wrong address. |

The root cause is that submit_bio_noacct() needs bio_op() is either
WRITE or ZONE_APPEND for flush bio and async_pmem_flush() doesn't assign
REQ_OP_WRITE when allocating flush bio, so submit_bio_noacct just fail
the flush bio.
Simply fix it by adding the missing REQ_OP_WRITE for flush bio. And we
could fix the flush order issue and do flush optimization later. |
| A flaw was found in the 389-ds-base server. A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the `schema_attr_enum_callback` function within the `schema.c` file. This occurs because the code incorrectly calculates the buffer size by summing alias string lengths without accounting for additional formatting characters. When a large number of aliases are processed, this oversight can lead to a heap overflow, potentially allowing a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or achieve Remote Code Execution (RCE). |
| A vulnerability in the Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) feature of Cisco NX-OS Software for Cisco Nexus 3000 Series Switches and Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches in standalone NX-OS mode could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause the IS-IS process to unexpectedly restart, which could cause an affected device to reload.
This vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation when parsing an ingress IS-IS packet. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted IS-IS packet to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the unexpected restart of the IS-IS process, which could cause the affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
Note: The IS-IS protocol is a routing protocol. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must be Layer 2-adjacent to the affected device. |
